Seeds - Soybeans and Resources

Soybean is a legume native to East Asia. It is a hardy plant that will be protected from adverse weather, pests and diseases if grown in healthy, fertile and workable soil. The soil for optimum soybean production is a loose, well-drained loam that supports its fibrous root system and allows for movement of air to the nitrogen-fixing root nodules. Soybeans can produce at least twice as much protein per acre as any other major grain crop. Most soybean varieties are used for animal feed and oil production. The United States has become the largest producer (75 million metric ton) and exporter (35 million metric ton) of soybeans in the world.
